NOZZLES/INIETTORI/DUSEN/BEC INJECTEURS
Nozzle
is one of the main components of fuel injection systems. It regulates the flow
of fuel to the ultimate ignition Compartment.
The main purpose of the Fuel Injection Nozzle is to direct and atomize the metered
fuel into the combustion chamber. The combustion chamber design dictates the
type of nozzle, the droplet size and the spray required to achieve complete
combustion within a given time and space.
The injection nozzle is aimed at the hot exhaust valve, which is cooled by the
gasoline. During the compression stroke the piston sweeps past the outlet of the
nozzle and thus protects it from the high pressure that develops at the instant
of combustion (initiated by spark ignition). A different arrangement in the
injection nozzle is located outside the cylinder, protected from high pressure
and temperature. It injects the fuel through the inlet port on to the opened
inlet valve and thus into the cylinder.
The nozzle is positioned within the nozzle holder assembly; injecting fuel as the pintle is lifted against the force of the pressure spring.
The nozzle body and pintle are manufactured as a precisely matched pair to ensure accurate fuel delivery.
NOZZLES HOLDER
The assembly of all parts of the injector other than the nozzle is known as the
nozzle holder. The main purpose of the nozzle holder assembly is to position and
hold the fuel injection nozzle in the cylinder head. It also has a passage
through which the fuel from the high pressure pipes flow to the nozzle. This is
also a passage for the flow of excess fuel from the nozzle.
