FEED PUMPS/ BOMBAS DE ALIMENTACION

The function of feed pump is to deliver the fuel from the fuel tank to fuel injection pump through the fuel filter. The feed pump is attached to the injection pump and driven by its camshaft.


Feed Pump ensures the fuel is supplied to the Fuel Injection Pump from the fuel tank via the filter assembly at a gauge pressure of roughly 1 to 1.5 bar. The main function of the pump is to supply fuel continuously to the Fuel Injection Pump at this pressure. These pumps are assembled in a clean and dust free environment. Each feed Pump is checked on a Test Bench to ensure that it meets the functional requirements. The pumps are subjected to different functional test which are as follows:

 1. Delivery Test - To check the cumulative discharge for a specified time, which ensures the continuous supply of fuel.

2. Pressure cut off - The discharge is monitored at different pressures.
